Top Action From Juniors At Northerns

Several of our Junior section travelled to Kingston-Upon-Hull recently to compete at the Northern Athletics Championships. The Costello Stadium was the venue where the best of Northern England’s U13, U15 and U17 athletes gathered for a fierce day of competition. Here’s how our Harrier Heroes got on…..

Under 15s, Zara Jones and Savannah Tarn were the two youngest athletes in their 1500m race; everyone else was in Year 2 of the age group. That didn’t put them off though as they produced two excellent performances. Zara shaved a few more 10th’s off her PB, taking 3rd place with a new best of 4:48.45, and Savannah crossed the line in 6th place in an excellent time of 5:24.01.

Lottie Graves was back again in the Shot Put. Some excellent throwing as usual with her best on the day being 6.90m, putting her in 10th place out of 18 competitors.

A fabulous overall performance from our young athletes, all of them ‘holding their own’ up against some really tough competition….and some of them even in the medals which is outstanding. Well done everyone, you have done yourselves proud once again!
