School Sports Awards

A successful year all round for our Harriers at school as is reflected in the end of year awards, celebrating their achievements in all areas of sport. What an accolade for our Harriers, who, might I say, dominated the proceedings! It was great to see how much they have contributed not only within Harriers, but in their own schools, stamping their prowess, courage and determination in all disciplines and to receive appreciation for their efforts. Well done! Don’t forget that you inspire other pupils in your schools, so keep up the hard work!

Carmel College were lucky enough to have their awards presented by World Indoor Champion and GB Olympic star, Richard Kilty. He gave an inspirational talk about his rise to the top, then was happy to stay back afterwards to chat and have photos taken.
Carmel are fortunate enough to have plenty of our Harriers attending the College. Top awards went to Daniel Boyer, Nat Bell, Sarah Wilcock, Megan Noble, Niamh Bishop, Darcy Garbutt, Olivia Bell, Lily Large, James Wilcock, Benedict Davies, Amelia Hunter, including Athlete of the Year going to Nat Bell, and the Award for Sporting Excellence going to Darcey Garbutt. Well done to all…..and don’t forget that you inspire other pupils in your schools, so keep up the hard work!
…..and at Longfield School, joining Liam Brittle for the top awards, was our very own Logan Fawcett. She was awarded the athletics award for the upper school, and medals for representing Darlington and Durham County. Congratulations Logan, well done!

Super sprinter, Richard Kilty
