India’s Back On Track

After her most successful cross country season to date, India Pentland returned to the track recently in her first BMC meeting of the year. As well as being her first track race of the year, it was also a step up in age group, to the heady heights of Under 20!
India travelled to Leeds to take part in the Women’s 3000m which was a race of mixed age groups, so she was up against mostly senior and Under 23 athletes, along with one Under 17. A tough race, but as we’ve come to expect, India coped admirably, finishing 4th overall with a new PB of 9:49.78. A fantastic result which put her No. 1 in the Power of 10 rankings! This has changed slightly since then and she currently lies in 3rd place behind two athletes who are both second year U20’s. Still very impressive, well done India ☺
…..and I had the pleasure of talking to India on Sunday while she was supporting her fellow Harriers at the North East Championships. She wasn’t competing this time as she has another BMC meeting coming up very soon, so we’ll let you know how she gets on. Excellent to see her there in a supporting role though.
