Hardy’s Half

Jenn Hardy took on the Highland Perthshire Half Marathon on Saturday. The Highland Perthshire event has built up a reputation for being a superbly organised, great value and Friendly. This is the 6th year of this event with a marathon option as well as an option to cycle. The event starts at the iconic Wades Bridge in Aberfeldy the route heads west through the village of Weem past the historic Castle Menzies and out towards Drummond Hill with great views towards Schiehallion and Glen Lyon.

The route is mainly flat for the first 7 miles before reaching the village of Kenmore before runners go over the River Tay at Kenmore bridge.
The route leaves the public road and heads through the grounds of Taymouth Castle and has the one real challenge on the route, a short climb up out of the castle grounds and back onto the public road to Aberfeldy. The final 5 miles follow the river Tay and although it is undulating, the general gradient is down hill, allowing runners to cruise along enjoying views across the river to the historic Appin of Dull.

Jenn finished the race in 2:02:50 and although disappointed with her time enjoyed the run. Well done Jenn
