Friday night was an important time for these three football crazy Harriers. Olivia Bell, Lily Large and Tori Buckley had been chosen to take part in trials for the Year 7 & 8 Darlington & District Schools football team, and if selected they would represent the town in a North East Schools tournament later this spring. The girls already play for Darlington F. C. Under 13 Girls, which are one of the best girls teams in the Premier Division of the Russell Foster Youth Leagues.
Tonight the competition was tough and 30 of Darlington’s best footballing girls had to be whittled down to a squad of just 15. As always the girls worked hard and showed off their skills to the best of their abilities, and when the trials were over you could feel the tension in the air. All the girls were ushered into a room where selections were announced and thankfully, it was big smiles all round as our talented trio were told they were in the team!

Soccer Siblings: Olivia joins her big brother, Nat (Under 15 Harrier) who was also selected for the Darlington & District Schools football team earlier this season, and is enjoying a successfulrun of league and cup games!
