Darlington Duo Head To Loughborough

Two of our best young female athletes were in action last weekend as Loughborough took its turn as host for one of the ever popular British Milers’ Club meetings.

This meeting was a mix of 800m, 1500m and 5000m races, and our middle distance maestro, India Pentland plumbed for one of her favourites, the 1500m.

The field of 17 athletes, was an all female line-up of mixed age groups ranging from Veteran down to the three youngest athletes at Under 17, of which India was one.

She ran a fantastic race, pushing hard, and finishing an excellent 2nd place, just one second behind the Under 23 winner, in a time of 4:29.84.

This was a new PB which now ranks her 5th in the UK for that distance! It also means she is now only 3.84 seconds off the European Under 20 qualifying time, and still only 16!!

Well done India, another outstanding performance!

Lucy-Erin Hunter’s race was very similar to India’s. 1500m, all female, with mixed age groups from Seniors down to Under 17’s, Lucy being currently classed as Under 20.

She is certainly one of our more experienced junior athletes and has represented the County at National level many a time throughout her athletic career.

Today she put in another top performance, finishing in 1st place with a Season’s Best time of 4:32.44, only a couple of seconds off her PB.

Great run, Lucy, well done!
