Saturday 29th August saw the return to competition athletics to Eastbourne Sports Complex for the first time since 2018 with our very own “Back To Track” event. An afternoon of 200m races and Shot Put competition.
Pictures here (most of them) provided by the wonderful Karen Harland the full set can be seen here.
A total of 21 DHAC athletes, across the age groups, competed on the day.
In the U13 200m we had four athletes:
In the U15 200m we had six athletes:
|U15G||10||Krista Bissett Brown||29.0|
We had one U17 and seven Seniors taking part in the graded 200m races:
In the Shot Put competition we had five athletes competing. We also had multiple British Shot Put Champion and occasional DHAC guest coach Scott Lincoln, who threw a modest (for him) 19.50m in preparation for the British Champs taking place the following week.
Outstanding performances across the board, with a lot of athletes competing for the first time this season with some moving into new age groups too.
Huge well done to all the athletes, with many making their first track appearance or competing in a new age group for the first time.
Massive thank you and well done to the organisers and volunteers who ensured that we had a fantastic event.
It was great to see competition back on “home soil”. Hopefully it won’t be the last!
