There’s No Place Like Holme

Race Reports

It was only a matter of time before one of our current squad of Seniors found themselves in prison but, for once, these Seniors were allowed out for good behaviour!

Holme House 5k trail run takes in the whole outer wall of Holme House prison. The route is predominantly flat with a mix of trail and paths, whilst 200 prisoners are also shouting you on.

Entry fee and donations all go to Zoe’s Place and Daisy Chain charities.

Finishing 2nd on the day was Colin Taylor, finishing behind Aycliffe’s Jon Surtees in 18:59, ahead of Phil Teece (55th / 24:55) and Libby Hammond (59th / 25:07) – who was also 1st youth to finish, 10th female and 59th overall out of 219 runners.

Michaela McGregor was next to finish in 72nd place in 25:53 with Dave Hamer next to follow (130th / 30:29).

Great work ladies and gents!
